Are you available for travel?
Fun! I do love a road trip. For makeup bookings of 4 or more applications travel is available. For any bridal parties please fill out the Bridal Inquiry Form!
Where are you located?
I have my very own studio at 310 Greenhill Road, Glenside. The Blush Trader studio is just 10 minutes South-East of South Australia’s CBD, 2 minutes from the stunning Burnside Village, and a short 30 minutes from the Adelaide Hills. Look out for the cutesy neon pink signage and you know you’ve found me!
Do you offer a wax free option for brow styling?
Yes! If you have suffered from grazing after a wax in the past or are on medication that will contradict a wax, you can book a wax free brow sculpt! A wax free brow sculpt still includes a consultation for your goals and expert mapping to achieve symmetry, but instead we only remove hair with professional grade tweezers.
Do you offer discount if I book multiple treatments?
Absolutely! You’ll find these options under Bundle & Save on the Fresha app.
What times are you open?
The studio is open by appointment only. It is recommended to call or text ahead before making a special trip to ensure we are there! Generally, we are working from Tuesday to Saturday with a range of hours from morning to late evening. Welcoming you is of the upmost importance at The Blush Trader studio and I love creating a one-on-one client experience. It is recommended that you book a consultation before dropping by as we may be with clients at your visiting time and might not be able to assist you as promptly as you need!
What makeup brands do you use?
I use a range of high end, luxury and artistry brands. Some of these brands include Nars, Hourglass, Dior Beauty, Bobbi Brown, YSL Beauty, Natasha Denona and many more. Each makeup application appointment includes a consultation to discuss your requirements and desired results. Once a plan is in place, I will carefully curate a selection of products to use that will achieve that longevity and wow factor you crave from a professional makeup artist.
Do you do weddings?
Yas queen! I got you. For more information on bridal pricing, availability and more, please fill out the Bridal Contact Form!
How do I care for my lash extensions?
After your appointment, it is recommended to keep your lashes dry for at least 24 hours. Using the spoolie brush given to you at your appointment, ensure to comb your lashes daily. This helps for old lashes to shed as well as keep your extensions looking neat. Be sure to cleanse your lashes daily with an oil free cleansing foam. Cleansers are available for purchase in studio. Do not use mascara, oil based products, cotton wipes/pads, micellar water, heat or lash glue on your extensions.
What should I wear to my makeup booking?
A loose-fitting top that can easily be taken off without damaging hair and makeup is best. Think a button up shirt, an open neck T-shirt/tank or even a stretchy strapless top. If you really want to earn a gold star, try to wear a colour similar to the primary colour of your event outfit. This is really helpful to envision the final look.
How do I care for my brow lamination or lash lift?
You must keep treated hairs dry and away from heat for a minimum of 24 hours. Failure to do so can results in the product reactivating and overprocessing. After the 24 hours has finished you can use all your usual products on and around the area. Should hair start to feel dry, vitamin E or argan oil can be applied to the hairs or a specialist lash/brow conditioner/oil serum.
What should I do to prepare for my makeup booking?
Ensure you are well hydrated in the lead up to your event, this will help avoid cracked lips and dry skin. Be sure to have any skin treatments done well in advance and check ahead with your aesthetician about any downtime required.
How much do your treatments cost?
For all beauty pricing and in studio makeup applications, pricing can be found here!
What is your cancellation policy?
I know life happens, but I do ask you provide a minimum 48 hours’ notice to cancel/reschedule an appointment. In the event 48 hours notice is not possible your deposit will be retained as a fee for both cancellations/reschedules. For cancellations/reschedules within 4 hours of your booking or in the event of a no show, full treatment cost will be deducted.
I’ve just had cosmetic injectables, can I get the area waxed?
No. You must wait at least 2 weeks before treating the area. Product can migrate or you may be more prone to infection. Longer time may be needed for some treatments, please consult your medical practitioner before booking in.
Should I get my hair done before or after my makeup application?
There are a few different answers depending on your hair styling needs. If you are getting a wash and blow dry for your event you must get hair done prior as makeup around the hairline will be compromised during the hair wash. If you have a fringe or intend to have hair styled over your face (and cannot be pinned without restyling) it is recommended you have your makeup application first. In all other scenarios you should generally be able to do either or first. If in doubt, check in with me before hand as well as your hair stylist to be guided further.
Should I bring an inspo pic?
Absolutely! Be sure to find pictures where the model has similar features to you. Think same eye colour, same hair colour, similar skin tone. Please be sure to avoid bringing in pictures created by AI as these often can’t be recreated.
How do I pay?
When finalising your online booking you will be prompted to pay a 30% deposit via Credit Card/Apple Pay that is retained as a guarantee or you can opt to pay in full. Upon completion of your treatment any remaining amount due is payable via Cash / EFTPOS / Credit Card.
I can’t find a time that works for me!
Sometimes the day you want may already be booked out! I always recommend booking 2-3 appointments ahead to avoid missing out. (This is approximately 6 weeks for daytime slots and 12 weeks for after hour bookings.) If you wish to join the waitlist for any treatment, this can be done here. Simply select your desired treatment, hit Continue, and you’ll find the option to Join Waitlist!
My event is in the evening but you only have morning spots available, will my makeup last?
Don’t be shy about those early slots! Makeup products have come a long way in their capability to last. After a thorough consultation prior to your application, we will be able to achieve a beautiful result that will suit your skin type and ensure maximum longevity. Makeup, of course, is still just makeup and it isn’t going to be fully indestructible! So if you’re unsure on timing and want to ask more questions, please reach out!
Can I reschedule an appointment online?
Sure can! This can be done by logging onto your Fresha app and selecting the appointment you wish to reschedule.
How much time should I allow for my makeup appointment?
As a high-end makeup artist, I require more time than average to achieve those gorgeous results. Please allow 1 hour and 15 minutes for your application time.
Do I need to book a bridal trial?
YES! YES! YES! So many of my gorgeous clients have been seeing me for 10 or more years and they still will book a trial for their wedding day. At the trial we not only discuss and apply your makeup, but we organise the logistics and plan for your bridal morning.
How do I cancel my booking?
Bookings cannot be cancelled online or via email. Cancellations can only be made via phone call or text. Cancellations within 48 hours for any reason will incur a late fee in accordance with the cancellation policy.
Can I discuss my options before booking in?
Absolutely. I do love to chat! Whether it’s to help ease your mind or answer any questions, you are welcome to book a consultation prior to booking in. This consultation is a 10-minute discovery session either in person or over the phone to discuss your needs. A consultation can be booked online here.
